This is a complex issue of an eye.
- There are many many different types of an astigmatism.
- A basic understanding of an astigmatism is that your eye does not bend light evenly. You have some strong spots and some weaker spots.
- Treatment: glasses, contact lens, LASIK, cataract surgery.
An astigmatism is your eye has some natural spots of stronger and weaker refractive tissue. So when a ray of light hits your eye it will get bent in a number of different way, these different angles of light will blurry your image. You will often still be able to make our the object but it will become hazy or have a "starburst" effect.
